Additional Considerations / FAQ's

When to Start: Lymphatic therapy can usually begin a few days after surgery, depending on the procedure and doctor's recommendations. It is important to consult with your surgeon before starting lymphatic treatments to ensure it is safe and appropriate for your specific surgery. Incisions must be free from infection and fully sealed this can take up to 10 days.

How many treatments are required? Treatment plans are developed by your practitioner and are individually tailored for each persons needs. The type of procedure you have, general health, age, and potential complications are considered when developing a treatment plan.

4-5 appointments is recommended however, some people may need more treatment and some people may require less.

Frequency: Weekly appointments are best. Healing is not linear and can make recovery challenging. Episodes of swelling peaks/nerve pain/ postural restrictions and general aches from sleeping positions are very common.

Will it hurt? Lymphatic therapy is not designed to be painful. Lowering pain, reducing swelling and assisting the healing process is the purpose of treatment.
